Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Night Waking Support Worker to join our team. You will be responsible for ensuring the wellbeing and safety of children throughout the night, providing professional care, and supporting them to have a settled sleep. Key duties include safeguarding, administering medication, completing reports, and ensuring a smooth handover to morning staff. The role involves supporting clients with various tasks to enhance their quality of life.
Duties
- Support children with their evening routine including shower/supper and medication/bedtime story or whatever is important to that child
- Seek medical attention/advice if the child becomes unwell during the night
- Seek opportunities to engage with our children.
- To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development for your role.
Skills
- Experience of working in a similar role.
- A proactive approach to working in a challenging environment.
- An understanding of, but not limited to; medical, cognitive and mental health conditions which affect children
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Pay: £ 13.50 - £ 15.00 per hour, dependant on qualifications
12-hour shifts, days and waking nights
Experience: Residential care 1 year (required)
Qualifications: Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (Desirable) – If candidate does not have either of these then as per regulations, they would be expected to start a qualification after 6 months probationary period and complete this within 2 years.

You will be responsible for ensuring the wellbeing and safety of a child with autism, learning disabilities, and challenging behaviour, providing professional care and support. Key duties include supporting the child with various tasks to enhance their quality of life, safeguarding, administering medication and completing reports.
