Education ICT Support Technician – Multi-Site Schools

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Education ICT Technician to join a growing IT business with an outstanding reputation.

We’re looking for an Education ICT Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support across multiple secondary schools.

This is a varied, people-focused role where you’ll work directly with teachers, support staff and students, ensuring technology is reliable, effective and supporting teaching and learning.

Previous ICT experience within education is essential, ideally within a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), multiple secondary schools or another multi-site education environment.

The Role

You’ll provide onsite first and second-line ICT support across multiple schools, including:

• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues.
• Supporting Windows desktops, laptops and other devices.
• Microsoft 365 support.
• User account and access management.
• Troubleshooting Wi-Fi, connectivity and printing issues.
• Supporting interactive displays, projectors and classroom technology.
• Installing, configuring and maintaining IT equipment.
• Supporting ICT upgrades, deployments and projects.
• Managing and prioritising support requests.
• Working closely with the wider IT team to resolve more complex issues.
• Building strong relationships with school staff and providing excellent customer service.

What We’re Looking For

Education ICT experience is essential.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who have experience working:

• Within a secondary school;
• Across multiple schools;
• Within a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT);
• Within a central education IT team; or
• For an IT provider supporting schools.

You’ll need strong practical experience in areas such as:

• Windows 10/11
• Microsoft 365
• Active Directory / Entra ID
• Hardware and desktop support
• Network and Wi-Fi troubleshooting
• User accounts and permissions
• Classroom/AV technology
• IT ticketing or service management systems

Just as importantly, you’ll be approachable, organised, proactive and comfortable working with non-technical users.

You’ll need to manage competing priorities, work independently across different school sites and remain calm when technical issues arise.

The key requirements

• Previous ICT/IT support experience within education – essential
• Experience supporting secondary schools – highly desirable
• Multi-Academy Trust / multi-site experience – highly desirable
• Strong Microsoft and Windows knowledge
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Full UK driving licence / ability to travel between sites
