About the Role

As our Care Home Cook, you’ll be responsible for providing nutritious, well-balanced meals that cater to the individual dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Mealtimes are an important part of daily life, and you’ll play a key role in creating an enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious breakfast, lunch, evening meals and desserts.
• Plan varied, seasonal menus alongside the Home Manager.
• Cater for special dietary requirements, allergies and modified diets.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene and infection control standards.
• Manage food ordering, stock rotation and minimise waste.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, safe and compliant with Food Safety regulations.
• Work closely with the care team to provide the best possible service for residents.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience as a Cook, Chef or Catering Assistant in a care home, healthcare, hospitality or commercial kitchen.
• A passion for preparing high-quality, home-cooked food.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and food safety regulations.
• Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
• A caring, friendly and positive attitude.
