Residential Children’s Care Worker
Location: Derby (Mickleover / Littleover)
Salary: £31,440 – £34,060.80 OTE (inclusive of sleep-ins)
Bonus: £1,000 sign-on fee
Hours: 40 per week (alternate week shift pattern, includes sleep-ins/on-call)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

The Role
As a Residential Children’s Care Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children aged 10–18 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This includes:
- Providing day-to-day emotional and practical support.
- Building strong, positive relationships to help children develop confidence and social skills.
- Supporting with education, leisure activities, and life skills.
- Implementing personalised care plans.
- Promoting independence while maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure high-quality care and consistency.
About You
Essential:
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Children & Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent).
- At least 1 year’s experience in residential childcare.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Compassionate, resilient, and committed to supporting vulnerable young people.
Desirable:
- GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
- Previous experience supporting young people with EBD.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and sleep-ins.
